Hitch are currently delivering our HeadStart resilience campaign for young people aged 10-16, parents and communities across Kent. The campaign is grounded in insight and behaviour change theory and amplifies young people’s voices to make a positive social impact. Utilising mediums such as animations and illustrations, they have been able to resonate with young hard-to-reach audiences. Throughout the campaign Hitch have innovated to ensure the campaign is relevant and effective in the face of COVID-19 for both young people and parents and original proposals have adapted well to be wholly digitally focused. They have ensured project management plans and channels used are adaptive to the ongoing situation. We’re very happy with the project Hitch have provided and look forward to working on the campaign further with them over the coming months.

Hitch has made a significant contribution to our ambition of Making Smoking History in Greater Manchester. Building on insight research with local smokers, and in ongoing collaboration with them, Hitch developed an inspirational You Can Stop Smoking brand and a series of powerful mass media campaigns built around real-life exsmokers with stories and experiences relevant to the people we need to reach. The success of this approach is emerging in our evaluations. These campaigns are encouraging steps to quit by not only those most likely to stop smoking, but also among secondary audiences previous campaigns have found it hard to engage. Midway through our strategy, the proportion of people who smoke in Greater Manchester is falling twice as fast as across England for a whole. There are now 46,500 fewer smokers in our city region. We could not be achieving this without our communications and campaigns activities, and the evidence-based strategic planning, people-focused creative approaches, and rigorous analysis and evaluation which Hitch has brought to them.
